Current events

I knew I should've never written about those good things in my last post. I did jinx myself!

And I don't want to talk to much about the other good things going on right now just because of my crazy superstitious fear of not getting the job I'm temping at right now!

But I will talk about the news.

Cheney, my Vice-President, what a great huntsmen...after he shot this ranch-owner guy in Texas in the FACE the woman who also partly runs the place said, "Our vice-president is a very good shot. He has a very conscientious shot." She was right, of course...

Then there's the new member of the Supreme Court Samuel Alito...I was firmly against him joining because he's such a neo-conservative and already abortion is up to be banned, in South Dakota for right now and politicians in D.C. are saying this is the right time to try and change Roe v. Wade through the Supreme court.

Enough politics, how about the olympics? I picked up a paper (The Chicago Sun Times) at work yesterday and found out about all Americans who had won medals but there was not one mention of who won any others from other countries. I didn't watch the figure skating finals and didn't know who took home the gold but I did know who got the silver (an American).

Oh well, maybe this was just a biased paper. Overall, my move back to America has been very refreshing, people aren't as much inclined to call me 'unamerican' anymore because of my political views and some of them even share them now!! Progress, I think...

When it rains it pours

Just when you think everything's lost something happens to change that. And then another thing, and then another.

I've been going through some tough times but recently one good thing has begun to lead to another. I'm weary and hesitant to type any of the good things because I'm superstitious and afraid I'm going to jinx myself.

But here goes anyway. My temping may be landing me a full-time job with a steady income (things were beginning to be very grim for awhile and still are...). And I got a DJ position for an internet radio station called WGTR from Chicago. It's a quality station and has some great music and comedy on it. I'm really excited about it but again, I don't want to jinx myself. I could be canned after 3 shows if my ratings aren't strong enough.

The show will be airing in two weeks 20.02.06, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from www.live365.com I'll give more details later. Hopefully things will turn out ok but until then I'm not going to talk anymore about them!
